Today again I wasn't very creative. So here's another dish, presented as flower: Quarkkeulchen (a Saxon dish made of potato, curd, egg and some other ingredients) with apple-compote. I ate it on our sunny balcony. It was delicious =)

17. Autumn flowers
When I was sitting on our balcony today, looking at the numerous plants my mother has planted there, I finally realized that autumn is also coming in South-Western Germany. I decided to do something against this by tying, sticking (thank you Tesa!) and sewing leafs to the caulises of faded flowers. I think, the result is quite interesting =)

16. Flower in red
Today, after some thinking about flowers that don't have to do with food, I rediscovered a technique I did a lot when I was about 7 years old: Folding a round piece of paper, cutting some patterns into it and unfolding it to see the outcome. I like it because you never really know what it will look like.
Actually I wanted to do lots of flowers like that, but my motivation only held for one. I like it anyhow.

15. Fruit salad
Once again breakfast inspired me for today's flower:
And if now you think I'm a bit hoggish, talking about food all the time, I must say: You're right ;) Especially at the moment. This very healthy and very annoying diet I am doing makes me even more food-focused than normal. But it's getting better - tomorrow I won't present to you another flower made out of food. I promise!

14. A flower a day keeps the doctor away
Today for breakfast I ate a delicious apple from my uncle's tree. It tasted even better with those flowers on it =)

13. Cat food
At the moment I am at my mother's home. So I have the chance to be with our lovely cat Nele =) She inspired me for today's flowers:
They are made out of cat food (if you haven't figured out yet ;) ).
If I can catch her eating them, I will post the foto tomorrow ;)

12. Some nosework
Today I was in Heidelberg at a big festival called "Heidelberger Herbst". There I also went to Kaufhof (a big shopping center), actually just to use their toilet ;) But when I arrived at the perfumery section I remembered an idea I already had in the beginning of my challenge: To find the most bloomy perfume.
So I did some nosework and found this one: Oh, Lola! from Marc Jacobs. It was very bloomy (and still is on my test strip) but I also liked it quite much.
Then I asked the saleswoman which perfume, in her opinion, was the most bloomy (as I wanted to come to a well-founded decision) and she showed me Diorissimo from Dior, a scent with lilies of the valley (Maiglöckchen) in top, middle AND base note (and thus quite dominant). She convinced me that Dior is the king of bloomy perfumes. And, I have to confess: I didn't like it very much... (and still don't, on my test strip).
So, if you ever come to the point in your life where you are in need of a very bloomy perfume, from this day on you will be prepared =)

11. Foam
I had just decided to take a bath when I remembered that I still had to create a flower for today. So here it is:
It was a bit more difficult than expected, but I think one can recognize it as a flower... ;)

10. 9 ways to draw a flower
This evening I tried drawing a flower in different ways like with the left hand, with my foot or with the mouth. It was interesting that some techniques I tried were easier than expected, e.g. drawing without moving the pencil (but the paper) and drawing with closed eyes.
I would have tried more but I could't imagine any (except from sporty ones like drawing while making a headstand).

9. Shopping!
I just arrived home from a shopping tour in Erfurt. I was quite successful, as you can see below:
I was lucky that I didn't have this idea on Friday. Fighting my way through several thousands of people screaming for the pope it probably wouldn't have been such a relaxed day...

8. Beaded Flower
Today I gathered my beads around me and created a beaded flower as a brooch for my new hat (can't wait to wear it =) ).
Besides, I learned two more origami flowers:
I like the white one very much. It looks a bit like a karambola (star fruit). Again I was impressed what one can do out of one piece of paper. And especially that I can do it too ;) Even when I'm stuck at one of the last steps and the instruction says: ...now do this and that and with a plopp everything will fall into the right place - ehmm.. yes... But in the end somehow it works (well, at least if we forget about the rose I tried yesterday ;) ).

7. Origami
Today I tried a bit of origami. Since my friend Lena showed me how to make an origami crane I have been fascinated of this type of art. But up to now I didn't take the time to learn a new figure.
So here are my results:
As you might have recognized, the last one isn't finished. After quite a lot of time and confusion I decided that the Kawasaki Rose might be a bit too difficult for a rookie like me... But at least I didn't fail until step 20.

6. Some research
Today I used a part of my time on research. Here's what I found. It's in German, as I did my research in German and I wasn't able to translate some words into English (interesting: in German we discriminate between "Blume" (flower) and Blüte (well... flower) which both means slightly different things as I will explain below:
3 interessante Dinge über Blumen:
Erstens: Das Wiktionary kennt 6 verschiedene Bedeutungen des Worts "Blume":
1. blühende Pflanze
2. Schaumkrone auf einem gefüllten Bierglas
3. Jägersprache: Schwanz eines Hasen oder Kaninchens
4. Bouquet, Aroma oder Duft eines Weines
5. allgemein für Grünpflanze (auch nicht blühende)
So much for today. Write you tomorrow =)

5. Mandala
This evening I rediscovered something I like very much but haven't done in a while: Mandalas. I felt I needed a bit of peace and meditation. Just me, the mandala - and the sound of my spinning washing machine (too lazy to close the door).
I enjoyed very much painting it.
Note: I got the mandala from this website: http://www.geschichteinchronologie.ch/
Originally it was published in this book: Rüdiger Dahlke: Mandalas der Welt. Ein Meditations- und Malbuch. Heyne Bücher, 1985.
By the way: the website is definitely worth visiting it! REALLY!!

3. Blu(e)Me + 4. Wedding flowers
Oh, what a day (yesterday)! Very nice, very informative and very exhausting. Finally at home I fell into my bed like a dead person. So today I have two flower-related fotos to show to you.
The first one is a picture of me I added to the blog in the upper right corner. I call it Blu(e)Me*.
The second one is a foto I did when I was on a day trip with an aunt and uncle who were visiting me last weekend. We were at three beautiful castles near my home-town. There had been a wedding, as you can see below.
As the project I began yesterday isn't finished yet I decided to declare this foto as my yesterday's project ;)
*For the ones who don't get the link to my topic: Blume = flower in German ;)

2. The rose
Some say love, it is a flower....
I say, it is a rose out of beer mats* which I made with my lovely friend Lena at a bar in our town.
Also note the fact, that the beer is called "Rosen-Pils" =)
*coasters for the Americans among us - at least according to the dictionary ;)

1. I made it!!
It's finally done. I created my own blog.
Actually I still cannot really believe it.
I never thought of creating an own blog... And now I'm sitting here after several hours of work, staring at my netbook and wondering how it got so far.
It all began with Lena (hey there ;) ), a very good friend of mine, telling me about her new project, a challenge she planned to spend the next year with: To get a bit of starshine into her life by creating a star each day.
I realized quite soon that I liked her idea. Adding a constant factor to each day, dealing with something that fascinates me for a whole year, being creative and trying new things - those were things I somehow needed too.
Now, after deciding to join my friend in the circle of creative crazyness all I needed (well, except from a blog to document my daily crazy... ehm, creativeness) was the topic I wanted to deal with each and every day of the following year. This was quite simple: FLOWERS! I love them, they fascinate me, I cannot imagine a life without them... Well, and I have to confess that this topic may be one of the more simple ones and as I'm not the most creative person in the world (and actually even not among the people I share my flat with) this might have been an additional factor in my decision...
So here I am, still staring at my blog ... MY blog ... (have to repeat it a few times to finally believe it) and waiting for the things that will come up within the next 365 days.
And I'm really looking forward to them =)
